TRACY'S TESTIMONY
The year in entered university was the year I spent looking for a community. At that point, the Private Uni Community just started and was not known by many. However, a staff at OYP led me to them and I have since been with the community.
Before joining the community, I was only journeying with some friends and couldn’t find a place to call ‘home’. This community really came as a blessing through my university and serves as a reminder that my choice of school is as God plans to be.
Through this community, God has blessed me with the different brothers and sisters whom I can call family outside of my own family. They accept me for who I am and always welcome me as I am when I show up for community sessions. Many times, I struggled with school and my group mates which led me to show up at community sessions feeling frustrated. However, during times like this, the community held space for me to share about what concerned me the most. They have also carried me to Jesus when I cannot do so myself. They often speak truth over me, pray for me and are excited to know about me.
Truly, we are not just a community but are a group of friends who will and can meet up even after we leave and graduate from our own universities. Just as my community has carried me to Jesus when I cannot, will you allow others to carry you too?
