About SABRINA KWEE

My name is Sabrina.

I'm currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Design Communication at LASALLE College of the Arts.

I am a huge fan of Formula 1 and motorsports in general. In my free time I like to watch races and create videos. I also enjoy reading fiction books, watching video essays, and scrolling through Instagram for memes. I like Owl City, and his Christian songs are beautiful. I recommend checking out You're Not Alone, Always, and My Everything.

Being an international student in a private uni, it was quite difficult to find a close knit Catholic community. I have joined several communities before, but none of them really clicked and made me feel like I was among brothers and sisters in Christ. I have to admit it was still pretty awkward the first time my friend introduced me to this community. I didn’t understand how these people, who are uni students just like me, can be so convicted in their faith and so eager to share about God. I felt hesitant to talk about my faith, but these people have been nothing but understanding. They didn’t push me, and bit by bit, I warmed up to them. I didn’t realize I had so many questions and pent up emotions. It was really nice to finally be able to talk to people who understand and can give me answers from the Bible’s perspective. Meeting this community is truly a blessing from God. Attending sessions, learning about Him, and being held accountable by my cell group has helped me grow in faith.

The other thing grateful for is that the community can still have fun outside of sessions. We eat out together, play bowling, even laser tag. It’s these little things that have brought us closer together as a community. Even during the pandemic, the resilience this community has shown makes me believe that nothing can stop us from partaking in God’s love. We can still have sessions over Zoom, play online games, and have lunch together.

This community has amazing, gifted leaders and wonderful people who genuinely care about me. I am so blessed to be a part of it, and I hope we can share God’s goodness with the people around us.
